Myxomycota is a taxonomic group of organisms, formerly known as plasmodiophoromycota, concavenolomycota, or acervulomycota. They are a group of slime molds, which are fungus-like protists characterized by life cycles that can include close association with bacteria and fungi, and observable cellular development including plasmodium and sporangia.
