Microscopium Definition

A constellation in the southern sky, faintly visible and located between Octans and Magellanic Clouds; it is also known as the microscope or the telescope. It was named by its creator, Nicholas Louis de Lacaille, who introduced it in 1752 to commemorate his invention of the reflecting telescope.
